In today’s society, there is an expectation of what it means to be black. From physical features such as the shape of one’s nose and lips, to hairstyles, skin complexion, and even speech patterns, those who identify as black are often judged and labeled according to their perceived “blackness.” However, for some individuals, their racial identity does not match up with their appearance or behaviors.
